Description

The building comprises a pair of houses, now used as shops, dating back to the 16th century, but substantially refaced in the 18th century. It is timber-framed and clad with black-glazed mathematical tiles, topped by a modillion eaves cornice and a plain tiled roof with end chimney stacks on the left. The building is three storeys high with a two-window front. Early 19th-century canted bay windows are present on the second floor, featuring glazing bar sashes. Later 19th-century plate glass windows with shallow elliptical-arched heads and slim colonnettes are on the first floor. An early 20th-century shopfront occupies the ground floor, featuring an inset glazed door and a deep fascia board.
