Description
No. 186 High Street is a house pair that has been converted into a shop. It dates from the late 18th century or early 19th century. The building is finished in stucco and features a moulded wooden cornice at the parapet, topped by a mansard slate roof. It has end stacks and three flat-headed dormers. The structure has three storeys and attics, with a regular three-window front. The central windows are glazing bar sashes, while the outer bays contain tripartite sashes set in shallow two-storey segmental bays on the first and second floors. The windows on the first floor are shallower than those on the second. The ground floor has a wide 20th-century double shop front, which includes an inset central glazed door and a rounded corner to the right.
