Description
This is a 16th-century cottage, now a shop, located on the south side of High Street in Lewes. The original timber-frame is covered in decorative fish-scale tilehanging, topped by a parapet. A large, 19th-century double dormer window is set behind the parapet, featuring bargeboards and ridge-cresting. The cottage has two storeys and an attic, with a two-window front. There is a sash window to the left on the first floor and a shallow, sashed, canted bay window with a hipped roof on the right. A wide shop front, dating to the early to mid-19th century, occupies the ground floor. This includes a glazed door on the right and a recessed six-panel door to the left. The building is included on the list for its group value.
