Description
The Rest and The Retreat, also known as Lloyds Bank, is a pair of houses dating from the 18th century, with features added in the mid-19th century. The buildings are constructed of painted brickwork in Flemish bond and have a hipped tile roof at the west end, with a catslide at the rear. The north elevation is wide and has a regular arrangement, featuring two storeys with four windows. The upper windows are casements, while the ground floor has splayed bays that sit beneath a continuous tiled canopy. The doorways are plain. It is worth noting that No. 1, The Retreat, forms part of an irregular terrace.
