Description

An 18th-century house with a 20th-century extension, located on West Street, Hambledon. The original part of the house has a symmetrical south front, extended to the west. It is two storeys high with a two-window arrangement on the upper floor. The windows are sash windows in exposed frames, featuring large splayed bays on either side of the original entrance. The doorway has a pediment and pilasters, with panelled reveals and a six-panelled door (the upper two panels glazed), accessed by stone steps. The original structure is built with brickwork in a Flemish bond pattern, using blue headers, and featuring brick dentil eaves. The rear walls are of flint with brick dressings. The roof is hipped and tiled. The property includes wrought-iron boundary rails with ornamental open-work gate piers and double gates.
