Description

The gateway adjoining the Lodge is a Grade II listed structure located on Sotherington Lane in Blackmoor. It dates from the mid-19th century and is constructed of stone. The gateway features two gatepiers, with walls that curve outward to meet two outer piers. The walls are plain and include a cap and a chamfered plinth. Each pier has a plinth, a chamfered band at the top level with the wall, and an upper moulding that tapers to a ball finial at the top. The gateway is adorned with a pair of wrought iron gates that exhibit ornamental features in the style of the 18th century. This structure is included for its group value.
