Description

The Old Thatch is a house dating from the 17th and 18th centuries. It is located on Sotherington Lane in Selborne, Blackmoor. The house is timber-framed with painted stone infill, although the south side is stone with brick quoins and a plinth band, and a later extension is of painted brickwork. It has a hipped thatched roof with a catslide at the rear, and a hipped roof to the extension. The main facade, facing south east, is of 1.2 storeys and has 1.3 windows. The windows are casements. A 20th-century open porch has been added, supported by a wide timber frame on a stone base, with side access via steps and a hipped thatched roof. A 18th-century plain doorframe contains a boarded door.
