Description

The Vicarage is a vicarage built around 1860 by Alfred Waterhouse. It is constructed of stone rubble with ashlar dressings and features a tiled roof with brick chimney stacks. The building has two storeys and attics, with an irregular arrangement of windows.

The front elevation includes a projecting gable on the left side, which has an oculus in the attic. On the first floor, there are two cambered sashes with Caernarvon arches, and one similar sash on the ground floor, alongside a doorcase with a Caernarvon surround. To the right, there is one dormer with a double sash on the first floor, a triple sash on the ground floor, and additional single sash windows, along with another doorcase featuring a cambered head.

The east elevation also has a projecting gable with an oculus in the attic, a two-light sash on the first floor, and a three-light sash on the ground floor. To the right of this gable are three sashes, with the central one altered, and a triple sash on the ground floor to the left of the gable, which also includes one dormer and two sashes.

The north elevation consists of two parallel ranges with an external chimney stack, featuring a sash window on the left side range, a gable with an oculus in the attic storey, and paired sashes below. The Vicarage is included as part of a village group, all designed by the same architect.
