Description

The barn and stable block at Manor Farm, located 50 meters southeast of the Manor House, is a Grade II listed structure comprising two builds. The barn dates back to the 16th century, with an 18th-century addition and a stable block. The original barn features brick walls with a reused dressed stone plinth and doorway, and it has a timber-frame interior. The 18th-century addition is a weatherboarded barn and brick stable, topped with an old plain tile roof, while the addition has a slate roof.

The 16th-century barn consists of seven bays and is aisled on the farmyard side, with the center bay open and double doors opposite, as well as an open center right bay. An outshot has been added to the right end, and a late 18th-century barn with low walls but not aisled has been added to the left end, featuring full-height doors in the right center bay and stable doors in the left bays.

Projecting forward from the left end is the 18th-century two-storey, five-bay stable block, which has stable doors in the second and fourth bays, with windows and hay loft doors above in the other bays. On the road elevation, there is a reset 14th-century pointed door with a hood mould in the end 18th-century bay. Inside the 16th-century barn, there is a queen post roof with main posts on both sides resting on pad stones, long straight braces to the ties, and curved wind-braces on the aisle side to the aisle plate.
