Description
The Hermitage is a house dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed of brick with slate hung on the southern end and features a slate roof. The building is two stories high and has three bays, with a fourth bay added to the right and set slightly back. The entrance has a 20th-century glazed door within the original panelled reveal, topped by a semi-circular fanlight and flanked by fluted pilasters that support an open pediment. The windows are 16-pane sashes with rubbed brick heads, with the ground floor windows being larger. There are wrought iron balconies on the first floor. The roof is hipped, with stacks located on the hips. The added bay has similar windows and a hipped roof.
