Description

This barn, dating to the late 17th century, stands 40 metres southwest of Burgates Farmhouse. It is a timber-framed structure of five bays, featuring aisles along its long sides. The barn has a Queen post roof truss and a central wagon entrance. The walls are boarded, and the roof is tiled, with a gable at the entrance supported by curved brackets. A doorpost carries a series of inscriptions including initials and dates, namely TP1709, EI1729, 1772, 1790, I Brider 1818, and WF1831.
