Description
Complyms is a cottage that dates back to the 17th century but was refronted in the 18th and 19th centuries. It has a timber-frame core that is encased in brick and features a plain tile roof. The building has an L-shaped, three-bay front with a two-bay cross-wing at the rear and a 19th-century flint service room to the right. The front of the cottage is one and a half storeys high and consists of three bays. The central entrance is a 19th-century door that is top-glazed and set within a gabled timber porch that has a bargeboard and finial. On either side of the porch, there are 20th-century full-height canted bays, which have French windows on the ground floor and sash windows on the first floor, with tile hanging in between. Above the door, there is a sash window in a gabled dormer. The roof is hipped to the right and features a large stack on the hip and at the left end.
