Description
The Manor House is a house that features a late 18th century front added to an early 18th century structure with an earlier core. The front elevation is made of brick, while the other sides are constructed with reused squared stone and brick in a chequerwork pattern, topped with an old plain tile roof. The building is two storeys high with a cellar and consists of a main part that is three bays by three bays, along with an older two bay by two bay section at the rear left. There is also a 1½ storey service wing with an outshot at the far end.
The front of the house, dating from the late 18th century, has three bays and is two storeys tall, with a cellar beneath the left bay. A central 19th century rectangular flat-roofed brick porch features a dentilled cornice and crenellations, and it contains a 18th century four-panelled door set in a rubbed brick arch. The house and porch are raised on a low plinth. There are five 16-pane sash windows with rubbed brick arches and stone sills, and the hipped roof has boxed eaves. The building is also adorned with symmetrical chimney stacks on the return.
