Description
Star Cottage is a mid 18th century stable that has been converted into a row of cottages in the early 19th century. The building is constructed from coursed flint rubble with brick dressings and features a hipped plain tile roof with a brick ridge stack. It is a single-storey structure, showcasing segmental-arched surrounds for its 6/6-pane horizontal sliding sash windows. There is a plank door with a similar surround, while three other doorways have been blocked and replaced with inserted windows. A gabled dormer with tile-hung cheeks adds to the character of the building. The horizontal sliding sashes are a notable feature, representing a rare survival in this unusual single-storey cottage row from this period. The interior has not been inspected.
