NEWTIMBER BRIGHTON ROCK Star Cottage

GV II

Cottage row, now house. Mid C18 stable converted into early C19 cottage row. Coursed flint rubble with brick dressings, and hipped plain tile roof with brick ridge stack. Single-storey range, with segmental-arched surrounds to 6/6-pane horizontal sliding sashes. Plank door in similar surround, 3 other doorways blocked by inserted windows. Gabled dormer with tile-hung cheeks. Interior not inspected. The horizontal sliding sashes are a particularly notable survival on an unusual single-storey cottage row of this date.
