Description
Stanford House is a row of four cottages that have been converted into one house, dating from the early 18th century. The building is two storeys high, constructed with a timber frame and roughcast, topped with a pantiled roof. It features two internal chimney stacks with plain red brick shafts. The ground floor has eight mid-20th century two-light plain casement windows, while the upper storey has four. There are three doorways: one stable door, one fully glazed door, and one mock-Tudor plank door. Inside, the layout consists of thirteen short bays, with one bay likely being an addition. The interior includes bisected studs, a middle rail, and primary braces, although most beams are boxed in. This building is an interesting example of a purpose-built cottage row.
