Description

Haynings is a house dating from the 18th century, standing two storeys high with attics. It features a timber-framed structure with roughcast exterior and a hipped roof covered in plain tiles, complete with lead hips and overhanging eaves. An internal chimney stack is present. The building has a five-window range, with sash windows in flush frames; the upper storey has small-paned windows while the ground storey has wider replacement panes. There are two gabled dormers adorned with triangular pediments and a semi-circular-headed stair window located on the side wall. The entrance boasts a six-panelled door with raised fielded panels, set beneath a Gothick portico supported by columns and pilasters with clustered shafts. The portico features an entablature with a convex pediment and a frieze decorated with five roundels, along with an oval in the tympanum. Additionally, there is a cast iron foot-scraper on each side of the entrance.
