Description
The Old Smithy is a building that has been converted from three cottages into a house. It dates from the late 18th century and early 19th century. The structure is made of brick and has a pantile roof, featuring a single gable and a single ridge stack, as well as dentilated eaves. It is two stories high.
On the southern side, there is a single bay cottage with a steep pitched roof. This cottage has a central 19th-century plank door, with a 2-light segment-headed sliding sash window to the left and a small fixed light window to the right. Above this, there is a single 2-light sliding sash window at the eaves.
To the north, there is a later pair of cottages that have been combined. They feature a 19th-century panelled door on the left, a 2-light sliding sash window to the right, followed by a blocked doorway and a plain sash window beyond, all with segment heads. Above, there are two plain sash windows in the eaves.
