Description

Rose Cottages is a row of 5 cottages dating from the late 18th and early 19th centuries. The cottages are constructed of brick and have a pantile roof, with 2 gable and 3 ridge stacks. Dentilated eaves run along the roofline. The cottages are two storeys high and comprise 7 bays, with the eastern 2 bays being lower and having a steeper pitched roof. Four doorways feature 19th-century panel doors, each with a 20th-century casement window to the right. To the left of the doorways is a single 18th-century sliding sash window, followed by a taller 19th-century sliding sash. Above, there are 20th-century casement windows, with 2 19th-century sliding sashes to the left and two smaller 19th-century sliding sashes towards the eaves. Windows are 2-light throughout. All openings have segmental brick heads.
