Description

The Old Forge is a house dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed of coursed limestone rubble with gritstone dressings and features a stone slate roof. The building has brick gable end and central ridge stacks. It stands two storeys high and has two bays. There are two adjoining flush doorcases on the south side, with a plank door at the southernmost point that leads to a passage through the building. To the north, there is a panelled door, and beyond this, a 2-light flush mullion window with plain sashes. Above, there are two similar windows at the eaves. The building is included in the register for its group value only.
