Description
Nos 1 and 2 Greaves Lane are two cottages that have been combined into one building. They date from the mid-19th century, although they likely have an earlier core. The structure is made of coursed limestone rubble with gritstone dressings and quoins, topped with a stone slate roof. It features brick stacks at the gable end and ridge. The building is two storeys high and has three bays. On the north side, there is a glazing bar sash window and a 20th-century plank door. On the south side, there is an inserted 20th-century plank door set under rubble voussoirs, with a glazing bar sash in a flush surround next to it, and a wide plank door. Above this, there are two glazing bar sash windows, with the southern one also in a flush surround, and a plank door further south.
