Description
The Ashford Arms Hotel is a public house dating from the late 18th century. It is constructed of coursed limestone rubble with painted stone dressings and chamfered quoins. The building features a slate roof with stone-coped gables and moulded kneelers, along with two stone gable end stacks that have plain banding. There is a plain eaves band. The hotel is three storeys high and has three bays. The central entrance has a door with a stepped architrave and a bracketed stone hood above. The door is raised and fielded panelled with a plain rectangular overlight. On either side of the door are plain sash windows set in plain stone surrounds. Above the door, there are three similar sash windows, and three shallower windows above these, reaching to the eaves. Additionally, there is a tall, transomed stair window on the east gable wall.
