Description

A pair of houses dating from the late 18th century, located on Woodhouse Lane in the parish of Winster. The construction is of coursed rubble limestone with gritstone dressings, and quoins are visible at the south end. The roof is tiled in plain red tiles and Welsh slate, featuring an intermediate stack. The houses are two storeys and four bays wide. Originally fitted with single glazing bar sashes, the north end now has 20th-century top-hung lights. Each house has a heavy, quoined doorway centrally positioned, topped with a massive lintel. One doorway has a six-panelled 19th-century door with the two upper panels glazed, while the other has a plain planked door. The buildings are listed for their group value only.
