Description
Dene Croft is a mid-17th century house located on the north side of Main Street in the parish of Winster. It is constructed from coursed squared gritstone and features flush quoins, moulded copings, and kneelers. The building has intermediate and north end ashlar stacks with moulded caps, topped by a stone slate roof.
The west elevation is three storeys high and consists of five bays. It showcases 2-light recessed chamfered mullioned windows, except for the ground floor at the south end, which has a glazing bar sash window set in a projecting stone surround. There is a 20th-century inserted doorway at the south end, complete with quoins and a lintel, next to a blocked 17th-century doorway that has a massive chamfered quoins surrounding it. The street elevation features three glazing bar sashes in projecting stone surrounds.
