Description

Stanfree House and the adjoining house are a pair of cottages dating from the late 18th century. They are built from regularly coursed gritstone and feature projecting quoins at the east end, a coved eaves band, and an end ridge stack with a moulded cap, topped with a Welsh slate roof. The buildings rise three storeys and have two bays, with glazing bar sash windows set within projecting stone frames. There are central doorways on the west side, one with a plain stone surround and the other with a moulded surround that includes a keyblock at the head. The east end has a chamfered corner with a corbel block. The east gable has blocked 18th-century windows and a doorway, while the rear features a 2-light 17th-century window surround.
