Description
The Lodge is a house that was formerly an inn, dating from the 18th century. It is constructed of roughcast rubble with projecting quoins, a coped west gable, and has brick stacks at the intermediate and west gables, while the east gable features a stone stack. The roof is made of Welsh slate. The building has three storeys and three bays, with primarily 2-light flush mullioned windows, although some mullions are missing and have been replaced by glazing bar sashes and 20th-century joinery. The existing mullioned windows have 19th-century single glazing bar sashes. The principal doorway is off-centre and features a quoined surround with a flat canopy supported by moulded brackets, leading to a 20th-century glazed door. At the east end, there is a second quoined doorway with a massive lintel and a six-panelled door, along with a carriage entrance that has a timber lintel and plain plank doors.
