Description
Parwich Lees is a house built in the early to mid-19th century. It is constructed from coursed rubble limestone with gritstone dressings and features plain tile or slate roofs with brick gable end stacks. The house has two and two and a half storeys, with the south elevation dated 1810 according to the owner. This elevation has three bays and is rendered. The central doorway is flanked by pilasters and has a simplified entablature, with a half-glazed door. On either side of the doorway are canted bays that contain three glazing bar sashes, each with slate roofs. The first floor features three glazing bar sashes with moulded architraves; the outer windows have keystones, and the sills are connected by a string band. The building has angle quoins.
On the east elevation, the ground floor includes two 4-light mullion windows with an upper transom and labels. Above these are two 3-light windows with wooden mullions and a transom, set in stone surrounds with moulded keystones. There are also two half-height 2-light windows above with casements. A bellcote located to the north is dated 1858. Inside, the entrance hall features a Minton tiled floor.
