Description
Townhead House is a mid-18th century house constructed of coursed squared limestone with sandstone dressings. It features plain tile and slate roofs, along with stone coped gables that have plain kneelers. The house has brick gable end stacks and flush quoins. It is designed in an L-plan and stands three storeys tall. The south elevation consists of three bays, with a central doorway that has a stone lintel and jambs, leading to a half-glazed 20th-century door. On either side of the doorway are two-light square section flush mullion windows. Above these, there are two similar windows, and two smaller similar windows above those. Additionally, there is a single light staircase window with two transoms located above the doorway.
