Description
The Rookery is a house dating from the late 18th century. It is built of coursed rubble limestone with sandstone dressings and has a plain tile roof featuring two brick ridge stacks. The building is two storeys high.
On the west elevation, there are three bays, with the southern bay being a later addition that includes a casement window with a stone surround on each floor, as well as a doorway with a stone surround. The northern half of the house is double fronted, featuring a central doorway with a 20th-century half-glazed door and a 19th-century gabled wooden porch with lattice-work. On either side of the doorway are 2-light square section flush mullion windows. Above, there are two similar windows, but these have narrow, stop-chamfered mullions.
