Description
Fernlea is an 18th-century house located on the north side of Main Street in the parish of Parwich. It is constructed of coursed limestone with gritstone dressings and features a plain tile roof with brick gable end stacks and stone coped gables. The building has flush quoins and stands three storeys tall.
The south elevation includes a central doorway that has a stone lintel and quoins. The door is a 19th-century four-panelled design, with the top two panels being glazed. On either side of the door are 2-light square sectioned flush mullion windows, which have small paned casements and fixed lights. Above the door, there are two similar windows, and a central single-light staircase window connects to a 3-light window above, creating a T shape.
