Description

Manor Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the late 17th century and 18th century. It is constructed of rubble limestone with gritstone dressings and features plain tile roofs with brick ridge stacks, including a stack in the pitch of the roof and an external stack. The building has a rectangular plan with two projecting gabled wings and stands two storeys high.

On the south elevation, from left to right, there is a single light window with a flush stone surround on both the ground and first floors. Next, there is a projecting gabled bay that contains a 3-light recessed chamfer mullion window with a drip mould on each floor. To the right, there is a 2-light recessed chamfer mullion window with a drip mould, followed by a 3-light square section flush mullion window with a drip mould, which continues over the doorway that has a chamfered surround. The doorway features a 19th-century five-panelled door, with the top two panels being glazed. Above this door are two 2-light square section flush mullion windows.

The gabled bay to the right has a 4-light square section flush mullion window with a drip mould on the ground floor, a similar 3-light window above it, and a blocked single light in the gable. At the east end, there is a room with 17th-century panelling that has raised and fielded panels and fluted pilasters. The entrance hall features a 19th-century staircase and a Minton tiled floor.
