Description
This stable and hayloft, located approximately 10 meters north of Low End Farmhouse, dates from the early 19th century but incorporates a datestone from 1666 and some earlier materials. The building is constructed of coursed stone with block dressings and features a blue machine tile roof, which has low, moulded verge parapets and shaped kneelers. It has a single-cell plan and a gabled, two-storey frontage. To the left, there is a Tudor-arched door, which is dated over the lintel "IS 1666." The central upper door leads to the hayloft and is accompanied by stone steps, both of which are early 19th century. The apex of the building includes a three-row dovecote with six boxes and three ledges. Below the stairs, there is another door with rounded inner angles. Later lean-to additions have been made to either side of the structure. Inside, the stable features deep chamfered spine beams and plain joists.
