Description

This is a milepost located on Bakewell Road in the parish of Taddington, dating from the early 19th century. It is made of cast iron and features a circular shaft with a broader circular body, which has raised bead moulding and a domed top. The base of the milepost is sunk into the ground. Inscribed around the top is "LONDON 156," while the remaining information that was painted on it is no longer visible.
