Description
Sycamore Farmhouse and the attached barn are a mid-18th century farmhouse located on the north side of Main Road in Taddington. The building is constructed from rubble limestone with gritstone dressings, featuring a stone slate roof on the house and a corrugated asbestos roof on the barn. The farmhouse has three stone gable end stacks and is designed in a T-plan, consisting of two storeys. The south elevation has two bays, with the gabled barn to the west. The house features a central doorway with a massive stone lintel and quoins, and a 19th-century half-glazed door. On either side of the door are large 2-light square section flush mullion windows, with two similar windows located above. The barn to the left may be older and has two square openings on its south side, along with angle quoins. The west elevation includes three recessed and chamfered openings and numerous projecting stones, while the rear elevation of the house features additional 18th-century-type mullion windows.
