Description
Rose Farmhouse is an early 19th-century farmhouse located on Priestcliffe Lane in Taddington. It is constructed of rubble limestone with gritstone dressings that are painted blue. The roof is made of Welsh slate and features one stone ridge stack and stone gable end stacks.
The southeast elevation has two storeys and consists of four bays. On the left side, there is a doorway with stone lintel and jambs, topped with a bracketed stone hood, leading to a 19th-century half-glazed door. This doorway is flanked by single light windows that have square section flush stone surrounds. Above these, there are similar single light windows separated by a transom. To the right of the main entrance, there is another doorway with a stone lintel and jambs, also with a bracketed stone hood and a 19th-century half-glazed door. Further to the right, there are two 2-light square section flush mullion windows, with two similar windows above them.
The farmhouse is complemented by iron railings along the southeast front, which feature intersecting ovals.
