Description
Milne House is a house built in the mid-18th century. It is constructed from coursed rubble limestone with gritstone dressings and features rusticated quoins. The building has intermediate and end ashlar ridge stacks and a roof covered with Welsh slates. The house is two storeys high and has three bays, with 2-light flush mullioned windows that have projecting surrounds and single glazing bar sash windows. The central doorway is notable for its massive jambs and lintel, topped with a shallow bracketed canopy. The door itself has four panels, with the upper two being glazed. A 19th-century bay has been added at the west end, which includes quoins and stone slates, with punched tooling on the lintels and sills of the six-paned windows. There is also a 20th-century half-glazed door.
