Description
The 'Anglers Rest' public house is a former house that has been converted into a public house. It dates from the mid-18th century and is constructed of coursed rubble limestone with gritstone dressings. The building features chamfered quoins, a coped southwest gable, a stone gable ridge stack, and a slated roof. It stands two storeys high and has two bays. The ground floor has flush mullioned 2-light windows with 20th-century joinery, while the first floor has 19th-century sash windows and fixed lights, all of which include glazing bars. There is an off-centre doorway that has a massive stone surround and a drip mould above the lintel, leading to a plain 20th-century planked door.
