Description

This milestone, located 150 metres southwest of Brimsbury Well, dates from the late 18th century. It is made of painted stone and stands approximately 2 feet high. The stone slab has splayed sides and a saddleback top. On the northern side, it is inscribed with "To ASHBOURNE 12 MILES," and on the southern side, it reads "To BAKEWELL 5 MILES."
