Description
Elton Old Hall is a house dated 1668 and 1715, constructed from coursed rubble gritstone with quoins. It features plain gables, end ridge stacks, and a single side wall stack, with a roof covered in Welsh slates and modern concrete tiles. The building has a 'T' plan, with an earlier lower range gable end facing the street. The south elevation is two storeys high with attics and consists of three bays, primarily featuring two-light flush mullioned openings with heads linked in a projecting band course. The windows have 20th-century glazing. Above, there is a single-light stair window with a semi-circular headed tablet inscribed with "B M 1715." A modern single-storey extension has been added to the centre of the ground floor. The north elevation includes a moulded architrave surrounding a former doorway, which has a lintel dated 1668.
