Description

Baul Cottage is a house dated 1697 with 19th-century alterations. It is built from coursed rubble gritstone and features a coped gable at the east end, along with end stone ridge stacks and a Welsh slate roof. The building has two storeys and an irregular two-bay elevation. The windows have tooled stone surrounds; the upper floor windows are fitted with glazing bar sashes, while the ground floor has 20th-century windows. There are two doorways: one at the east end, which is a 19th-century addition, and another at the west end that has a massive quoined surround and a lintel inscribed with "IS 1697." The cottage is listed for its group value only.
