Description
Meadowside is a house, originally a pair, dated 1737, with early 19th century alterations and additions. It is constructed from regularly coursed gritstone blocks and features rusticated quoins, coped gables with moulded kneelers, a moulded eaves band, and end ridge stacks. The roof is covered with Welsh and stone slates as well as plain tiles. The building has a staggered double pile plan and stands two storeys high with two bays. The windows are sash and casement frames with margin glazing, set in openings that have moulded stone architraves. The central doorway has coupled doors, each with moulded architraves and a deep hood mould above. The doors are plain plank style. A plaque above the door reads "M W H 1737." Inside, chamfer stops on the beams confirm the 18th century date.
