Description

Homestead is a house built in the late 18th century. It is constructed of coursed sandstone, some of which features herringbone tooling, possibly reused. The roof is pantiled with stone dressings and has brick stacks. The building has two storeys and an attic, with two windows on the front. There is an off-centre six-panel door that has a blocked segmental radial fanlight above it, all under a gabled wooden hood supported by shaped brackets. The windows on both floors are 16-pane sashes with projecting cills. A central roof dormer features a ten-pane window. The house has end chimneys, with the right chimney partly rebuilt, and includes gable coping and a prominent curved kneeler on the left side.
