Description
Greenwood Cottage is a house dating from the early to mid-18th century, with some alterations. It is constructed of coursed sandstone, featuring some areas that are roughly herring-bone tooled and others that are not tooled at all. The roof is pantiled, with a stone ridge and a brick chimney stack. The building has two storeys and two bays, which are very irregular in appearance.
The entrance on the right side has a four-panel door set beneath a bracketed quasi-cornice. To the left, there are two 12-pane sash windows on each floor, made of wood box frames with projecting stone sills. The ground floor windows have pintles for external shutters. A small modern casement window has been inserted on the first floor to the left. Additionally, there is a wide 20th-century roof dormer featuring plain casements, and a chimney is located at the left end of the building.
