Description
Lancelot Cottage is a house that dates from the mid 19th century. It is built of coursed herringbone-tooled sandstone, which may have been reused, and features a pantiled roof with stone copings and kneelers. The cottage has two storeys and an attic, with a slightly irregular two-bay layout. The entrance is a left-sided four-panel door located under a flat hood supported by shaped brackets. To the right, there are two four-pane sash windows, likely from the early 20th century, set in wooden box frames. Above, there are two similar sashes that are more widely spaced, all featuring projecting cills and wooden lintels. The roof dormer, which rests on the eaves, has felted cheeks and a three-light Yorkshire sash window. Notable features include prominent curved kneelers and a chimney stack located on the ridge near the right end of the building.
