Description

Cartwhinzean is a house, likely built in the late 18th century, with some alterations. It features rendered walls and a pantiled roof that has stone ridge, copings, and kneelers, along with brick chimneys. The building is two storeys high and has three narrow, irregular bays. There is an off-centre six-panel door set in a wooden doorcase with a bracketed head. To the right of the door is a replaced twelve-pane sash window, with an eight-pane sash window above it. The left bay and the centre of the first floor both have twelve-pane sash windows. A large and wide modern roof dormer with glazed checks is present at the front. The end chimneys have been rebuilt. The house is included for its group value.
