Description

Waverley Cottage is an 18th-century house altered in the 19th century, located on Littlewood Terrace in Robin Hood's Bay. The walls are faced with incised stucco, and the roof is covered in pantiles with a stone ridge, coping, and kneelers. A brick chimney is also present. The house is two storeys and an attic, with two bays arranged in a very irregular pattern. It has a plinth. A four-panel door is situated on the left-hand side, sheltered by a small gabled porch. A later 19th-century sash window with side margins is on the right, and a similar sash window is above it, both with projecting stone sills. A small sash window has been inserted above the door. The eaves are coved, and a roof dormer features paired sashes. The right end of the building has coping, a kneeler, and a chimney stack. The cottage is included on the list primarily for its group value.
