Description

Hillside is a late 18th-century house located on the south side of Robin Hood's Bay. The house is constructed of herring-bone tooled coursed sandstone, with a Welsh slate roof, stone stacks, and dressings. It is two storeys and an attic, with two bays. The front features an off-centre six-panel door with a keyed lintel and a bracketed gabled hood. Flanking the door are late 19th-century sash windows, and similar sashes are located above, all with extended, keyed lintels. Two flat-headed dormers with sash windows and glazed cheeks are also present. The gables have broad copings with block kneelers, and the end chimneys have a cornice band.
