Description

Job Cross is located 925 meters south-west of Dimmingdale Farmhouse. It consists of the remains of a wayside cross, featuring a medieval base with a shaft dating from around 1800. The shaft is made of roughly-dressed sandstone and measures approximately 23 centimeters by 25 centimeters and stands 91 centimeters high. It rests on a square base that is about 56 centimeters by 56 centimeters and 15 centimeters high. This cross originally marked the intersection of the road from Castleton to Moorsholm and the Old West Road, which connects Guisborough and Whitby.
