Description
Westfields Farmhouse and its attached outbuildings date from the 18th century and feature a courtyard layout. The buildings are constructed of coursed squared stone with a rendered front and have a pantiled roof with stone copings and square kneelers, along with rendered stacks. The farmhouse is two storeys high, with two windows on each floor. The house section is taller and has regularly-spaced 19th-century one-bar casements, while the cottage section has irregular small-paned 20th-century casements. There is a possibility that the upper part of the cottage was once used as a granary. The entrance includes a boarded door in a pent porch at the angle and another boarded door in the left pentice. An outbuilding extends to the right, and additional barns and byres extend from both ends of the house, surrounding the farmyard. These structures use similar materials, with some brick walling, and feature Dutch doors and small upper openings in the two-storey barn sections.
