Description
Barn Farmhouse and an attached range of outbuildings date from the 17th century and have undergone later alterations. The farmhouse is constructed of stone, with the front stuccoed and the gable end featuring coursed rubble and brown brick window arches. It has a slate roof and two brick ridge stacks. The outbuildings are made of brown brick and coursed rubble sandstone, also with slate roofs.
The farmhouse is two storeys high with two bays, sitting on an exposed stone plinth. The outbuildings are single storey with lofts and include a single-storey pent-roofed extension at the gable end. The front of the farmhouse features a framed, ledged and braced door, along with two-light horizontal sliding sashes on both floors. The right gable end has a replacement glazed and panelled door flanked by 3-light flush casements on the ground floor, with similar windows on the first floor. The windows are three panes high, equipped with stone sills and flat brick arches. At the rear, there is one 20th-century three-light casement. The outbuildings contain four half neck doors and various small windows, with some loft openings reaching full door height and others being square pitching holes. There are narrow half-brick wide breathers present as well. Inside the farmhouse, there are plain boarded doors throughout.
