Description
Rose Cottage is a house dating from the 17th century, with alterations made in the 19th and 20th centuries. It features a brick-nogged timber-frame and stone construction, with a high sandstone plinth and rubble gable walls. The roof is covered with red tiles and has brick end stacks.
The cottage is a single storey with an attic and has a two-bay front. The left part of the building projects slightly forward and includes a boarded door. The windows are 20th-century two-light metal casements with leaded glazing, and there are gabled half dormers at the attic level. The framing consists of fairly large panels with angle braces supporting the original wallplate. The interior has not been inspected.
